Meet Rodrigo van Asseldonk and Vince van Hoesel: Presidents of the European Students Blockchain Coalition

Greetings, blockchain enthusiasts! Allow us to introduce ourselves: Rodrigo van Asseldonk and Vince van Hoesel, co-founders and presidents of the European Students Blockchain Coalition (ESBC). But who are we, and why should you care? Let’s dive in.

Our journey began with a simple observation: a lack of an overarching coalition to unite student blockchain associations across Europe. Determined to fill this void, we took the initiative to establish a club within our own university. Little did we know, this humble beginning would evolve into something much greater.

Driven by our vision to empower students and foster collaboration, we saw the potential to align the Netherlands under a national organization. By uniting students from all corners of the country, we envisioned a vibrant community where ideas could flourish and connections could be forged. As co-presidents of the European Students Blockchain Coalition (ESBC), our journey is defined by a shared commitment to empower students and drive innovation across Europe.

Why should you care about ESBC?

At ESBC, we operate on three foundational pillars, each designed to empower and inspire students on their blockchain journey.

First and foremost, we serve as a Communication Channel—a dynamic platform for students across Europe to connect, engage in discussions, share insights, and explore internship opportunities. In a world where borders blur and ideas transcend geographical boundaries, our community serves as a catalyst for collaboration and growth.

But communication is just the beginning. We also strive to make industry events more accessible to students. Through strategic partnerships and initiatives like the CONF3RENCE Crypto Assets Conference in Frankfurt, we provide students with invaluable opportunities to immerse themselves in the world of blockchain, offering free admission tickets, volunteering opportunities, and live-streaming options.

Our recent participation at NFT Paris stands as a testament to our commitment to fostering student engagement and networking. Through Side Events and collaborative endeavors, we continue to amplify the voices of students within the blockchain space, driving meaningful connections and opportunities for growth.

Last but certainly not least, we are champions of Educational Initiatives. Through monthly webinars featuring esteemed companies in the web3 space, including Ledger Enterprises, VanEck, DFinity, MakerDAO, Tezos, and more, we empower students with knowledge and insights that transcend the classroom.

To conclude

In essence, ESBC is not just an organization—it’s a movement. A movement fueled by the passion, creativity, and ambition of students across Europe. Whether you’re a seasoned blockchain enthusiast or a curious newcomer, we invite you to join us on this transformative journey towards a future defined by innovation, collaboration, and endless possibilities.

Together, we are shaping the future of blockchain—one student at a time. Join us, and let’s build something extraordinary.
